Tree Board


The Tree Board was established in 1995 by the Board of Aldermen to assist in the development of a community tree management program for the care of trees on public property. When requested by the Board of Aldermen, the Tree Board considers, investigates, reports and makes recommendations upon any special matter or question related to trees.  As a result, the Board additionally provides educational opportunities to community members and private property owners. 

The City of Branson is a member of the National Arbor Day Foundation and recognized by Tree City USA as a Tree Growth Community.  As a Tree City USA Community, the City must satisfy prescribed requirements including conducting an annual Arbor Day Program. 



The Tree Board assists the City in public education and outreach programs about the planting and maintenance of trees within the city limits.  The public is encouraged to participate in such programs as Arbor Day, ArborFest, the Beautification Award Program, and the Tree Board Memorial Fund Programs

Requirements


The Tree Board consists of 5 Members serving 3 year terms who must be residents of the city and are appointed by the mayor with approval of the board.
