The City of Branson Police and Fire Departments are inviting residents to this year’s National Night Out event to be held at the Branson RecPlex on Tuesday, October 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The RecPlex is located at 1501 Branson Hills Parkway.
“National Night Out was designed to bring neighbors and communities together with a focus on crime and drug prevention,” stated Assistant Police Chief Eric Schmitt. “We are taking this a step further by partnering with our fire department and neighboring emergency service providers to give an opportunity for residents to meet their emergency responders,” added Schmitt.
The event will have police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and special emergency support vehicles on display for residents to tour. “Residents will get to meet and interact with emergency responders too,” stated Schmitt.
Fire Chief Ted Martin and Police Chief Stan Dobbins will be manning the fire department’s barbeque grill cooking hamburgers and hot dogs free for the first 250 people. Additionally, the RecPlex will open their doors for special activities including a bounce house, dodge ball, and volleyball played with local residents who attend and emergency responders too. The event is open to the public and free of charge for all activities.
