Branson Police Arrest 3 People - Recover 2 Stolen Vehicles

Branson Police Officers responded to Cahill Road on May 7, in reference to the report of theft from motor vehicles.   Upon arrival, it was discovered that a vehicle had been stolen from the same location. Quick action was taken by the patrol officers as they searched the area for the stolen vehicle.


Less than one hour later a Branson officer located the stolen vehicle at the Walmart Supercenter. The vehicle was occupied by 37-year old Simon D. Albrecht of Harriet, Arkansas. Further investigation revealed a second suspect. Officers blanketed the area again and located the second suspect, 26-year old Joseph Nelson of Oldfield, Missouri.


Further investigation led to the recovery of a second stolen vehicle at 533 Parnell Drive in Branson. This vehicle which had been stolen in Taney County contained firefighting gear when stolen. A search warrant was obtained and some of the stolen firefighting gear was recovered from the home as well as controlled substances leading to the arrest of 53-year old Eric Dean Leonard of Branson.


This investigation was initiated by the Patrol Division and completed by both General and Vice investigation Units of the Branson Police Department.

Property Damage - 1st Degree - Damage To Mv W/ Intent To Steal { Felony D RSMo: 569.100 }

Property Damage - 1st Degree - Damage To Mv W/ Intent To Steal { Felony D RSMo: 569.100 }


Joseph Nelson has been charged by the Taney County Court with:

Tampering With Motor Vehicle - 1st Degree { Felony D RSMo: 569.080 }

Property Damage - 1st Degree - Damage To Mv W/ Intent To Steal { Felony D RSMo: 569.100 }

Property Damage 1st Degree { Felony E RSMo: 569.100 }


Eric Dean Leonard has been charged by the Taney County Court with:

Possession of a Controlled Substance RSMO 579.015 (Class D Felony)

Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance RSMO 579.105 (Class E Felony)
