Alleged Police Impersonator Charged

Peters

The man who is accused of recently impersonating a police officer or a U.S. Marshal has been charged. Branson resident, 41-year old Kristopher Charles Peters, is in the Taney County Jail and is charged with Kidnapping (1st degree B Felony) and False Impersonation of a law enforcement officer (A Misdemeanor).


On July 23, officers responded to 3524 Keeter Street on a report that Peters was representing himself as a US Marshall. The investigation uncovered prior incidents resulting in charges of kidnapping and false impersonation of a law enforcement officer. Peters was arrested and is in the Taney County Jail with a $50,000 bond.


The Branson Police Department is still seeking information regarding Peters and anyone who may have had contact with him. Branson investigators wish to interview citizens who may have witnessed this type of activity or may have been contacted by this suspect.
