Downtown Sanitary Sewer Investigations
TREKK Design Group will begin sanitary sewer investigations on Sunday, June 16th at 7:00 p.m. throughout sections of historic downtown Branson as part of the Downtown Streetscape project. This work will continue for two weeks during the night time hours of 7:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. Work will start at the south end of town at College Street working northerly to Branson Landing Boulevard and covering the east and west corridor’s between Veteran’s Boulevard and Branson Landing. All streets and alley ways inside of this perimeter will be included in the inspections.
Second Downtown Meeting Scheduled
The CMT design team will be holding their second public information meeting on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the downtown streetscape design studio located at 210 S. Commercial St. in downtown Branson. This meeting will summarize the public input received since the April 25, 2013 public information meeting and offer the public an opportunity to provide feedback and comment on the latest concept visions for the historic downtown project.
Action taken by Branson Board of Aldermen at June 11th, 2013 meeting
The Board of Aldermen recognized two local businesses who have been awarded the Green Initiatives Award from the City of Branson, which recognizes community members for their efforts in recycling and conservation.
Police Caution Residents against Scams
The City of Branson would like to remind citizens to be cautious of scams. This can include price gauging, phony charitable donations, unlicensed repairmen or contractors, and individuals attempting to sell products door-to-door without a peddler’s license. Also, beware of contractors offering repairs at a low cost, but requiring full payment up front.
BRANSON FIREFIGHTERS TO HOST GOLF TOURNAMENT
Get your golf clubs ready for the fifth annual Branson Firefighters Association Golf Tournament to be held June 15, 2013 at the Pointe Royale Golf Village. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Shotgun Start.
Keep Branson Beautiful
As part of the continuing effort to keep Branson beautiful, the City of Branson is reminding residents to keep a close eye on the grassy areas of their properties. The growing season is in full swing now and the continued beautification effort of our city depends on residents who maintain their properties. The city ordinance states that vegetation must be kept below seven inches on public and private property including property in the right-of-way and sidewalks. Vegetation means all weeds, grasses and noxious weeds such as poison ivy, poison oak, ragweed and kudzu.
Water & Sewer-System Connection Charges
The City of Branson Utilities Department held an informational meeting regarding potential changes to water and sewer System Connection Charges, on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The information provided pertained mainly to new customers and developments making a new connection to the City’s water and sewer system. However, all interested customers and citizens were encouraged to attend.
Next liquor training course June 12th
The Branson Finance Department will be holding another “Responsible Alcohol Selling” class on Wednesday, June 12th, for servers, cashiers and bartenders. This training is required of all businesses selling liquor in the city of Branson or businesses that are in the process of obtaining a liquor license. The session begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers of Branson City Hall, 110 West Maddux.
Veterans Blvd Bridge lane closure for repairs
The northbound lane of Veterans Boulevard Bridge is scheduled for closure starting at 9 am on Monday June 3rd and will be reopened by 7 pm on Friday June 7th. This road closure will only affect the northbound traffic. Veterans Boulevard Bridge is the bridge over Roark Creek just south of Cox Hospital.
