The Public Works
Department is divided into four major service divisions:
Administrative
Services Division
Oversees all Public Works
operations, Public Works plan review for building projects, environmental
programs and customer service
Facilities Maintenance Division:
This division maintains
city parks, the RV campground, city buildings and public
property. It also does reconstruction projects on city
streets including installation of curb, guttering and
drains. The division maintains city streets and
right-of-ways. Each spring (April) and fall (November),
facilities maintenance conducts a citywide cleanup free of
charge for residents where city trucks pick up large items
such as appliances, mattresses, furniture, and brush and
tree limbs.
Recycling Division:
Recycle Center: Public works
operates a recycle drop-off center located at 601 Compton Drive
that accepts steel and aluminum cans, plastics, glass, paper,
cardboard, magazines, newspapers, motor oil and electronics. The
recycle center also accepts household hazardous waste like
automotive products, pesticides and other old or contaminated

Hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday,
8am - 12pm, and Thursdays 4-6pm
Water
and Sewer Division:
Branson owns and operates two water
treatment plants and two wastewater treatment plants that
are staffed 24/7. The two water plants produce over one
billion gallons of safe drinking water a year. In addition
to assuring that all state and federal standards are met for
water and wastewater treatment, this division is also
responsible for all sewer and water connections around the
city.
