Branson
Recycling Center
Why Recycle?
Recycling helps our environment in two ways.
First, recycling
papers and containers reduces the amount of trash filling our
landfills. Each person in a household generates an average of
4.0 pounds of waste per day. That's almost 1500 pounds per year!
At least 40% of that waste is recyclable which means each
individual can recycle 600 pounds of material annually.
Secondly, recycling
decreases our dependence on natural resources like oil, trees,
and ores. Producing new products from recyclables is also
more energy efficient than creating products from virgin
materials.
